Manfred Honeck – Gstaad Festival Orchestra
Seong-Jin gets together again with Manfred Honeck and the Gstaad Festival Orchestra for two concerts in Stuttgart and Basel on Feb 12-13.
Seong-Jin is in Spain and Portugal this week: he will play recitals in Alicante(Feb 3) and Porto (Feb 5), a concert at Madrid’s Auditorio Nacional as part of the Circulo de Bellas Artes series (Feb 4), and two concerts with the Orquestra de Galicia and Andrei Boreyko with Liszt’s Piano Concerto n. 2.
Seong-Jin returns to North America for his debuts with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra conducted by Sir Andrew Davis and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra under music director Manfred Honeck, on Jan 8-19.
He will play Beethoven’s Piano Concerto n. 4 in Toronto and Liszt’s Piano Concerto n. 2 in Pittsburgh.
Seong-Jin is going back to Japan for a tour with the WDR Sinfonieorchester and Marek Janowski, playing Beethoven’s Piano Concerti n. 4 and 5 in Miyazaki, Kita Kyushu, Tokyo’s Bunka Kaikan and Suntory Hall on Nov. 23-26.
Seong-Jin tours with the Philadelphia Orchestra and Yannick Nézet-Seguin in Asia, starting tomorrow at Taipei National Concert Hall with Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No. 1. The next dates will be at Arts Center Incheon and Seoul Arts Center on Nov 9-10.
Following his recent Asia tour, Seong-Jin continues in Europe with recitals in Hamburg’s Laeiszhalle, Tonhalle Düsseldorf, Philharmonia St Petersburg, Helsinki’s Musiikkitalo, Lisbon’s Gulbenkian Foundation on October 1-13.
He will play his Mozart- Schubert-Berg-Liszt program.
